We have 5 assigned to a LF server for repository licenses, 8 assigned to devices, and 86 assigned to users. But 108 of our licenses are in use. What else can use a license and how do we see where our licenses are allocated?

Directory Server - What can use a named license besides a User, Device, or Server?
When you say that 108 are in use, where are you getting that number? The "Overview" page in LFDS should show the usage of all the license in graphs like so:
where the number in center is the number remaining, and the smaller text (shown when you hover over the circle) is the number in use.
Devices, Users, and Servers are the only things that can use licenses, but you can assign licenses to Organizations, which will then count as "in use" when displayed on the main overview page. If you have implemented Organizations, see if you have any licenses allocated to those organizations.
Information on viewing licenses:
To see the number of license assigned to each server, go to the Applications tab and select the "Laserfiche Server" application. The breakdown of licenses is shown in the right pane:
The devices are shown on the Accounts page, under Devices. The total number of Devices is shown in parenthesis, and each devices should say either "None" or "Full License"
We do not currently have a count that displays the total number of licenses assigned to Windows users, but you can filter users by clicking on the funnel icon, then selecting the specific license type. Select all users with that license type to get a count.
A single comprehensive license assignation count is something we have considered, but have not yet implemented.
If the number of license assigned to users, devices, and servers does not add up to the number shown on the overview page, and you have not implemented Organizations, there may be an issue with either the migration or LFDS, and you should reopen the support case with the more detailed information you have provided here.
One thing to check is that if you have multiple repositories on the Server and configure repository named users for each of them, they'll take up additional allocations even if they are the same user.
Otherwise, my guess is something got confused during the migration and the best bet would be to open a support case.
There is no repositories in directory server. Are you thinking of Avante? With Directory Server you can only assign repository licenses by server, then the server can access the pool of assigned repository licenses.
I would like to know how to see an Overview of the licenses assigned.
This is what we got from support
Case support is for error issues, problems with the software, etc. However issues in which the customer or VAR needs assistance with understanding how the program works, where to find items, how to configure the application(s) are not support case issues. These are better directed into Laserfiche Answers, the white paper, or Pre-sales.
I'll have the support team look into this matter. Also, for situations like this, it's best to let support know that you had already started an Answers thread and someone from Laserfiche directed you to open a case.
Also, please clearly describe the issue in complete detail as sometimes the situation is phrased as a "how to" matter which is the reason your case was initially handled as a training matter regarding how to see where the named licenses are allocated.

Ok, I am still trying to understand where licenses can be allocated other than a server, device, or user and how we see our license allocation overview. It is a matter of limited information right now, if we could clearly see that we are missing licenses I will request additional licenses be restored through our order department. If the licenses are not missing we just want to know what we are missing in finding them.
I think this is just a bug with the migration, hence suggesting you work with support. Under normal circumstances, all the possible ways licenses could be allocated would be displayed. There isn't hidden information.
Full named licenses can be allocated as directory named users (Accounts > Users), named devices (Accounts > Devices), organizations (Accounts > Organizations) and repository named users (Applications > Laserfiche Server). If you count up the total number of users (across all organizations), devices, and repository named users that have full licenses, that should equal to the amount of full licenses in use as reported in the overview page of the Laserfiche Directory Server web administration site.
As for the issue of the overview page displaying 108 full licenses in use, but you only counting 98 in use when looking across users, devices, and LF Servers, that is what we are troubleshooting in the support case.
Lastly, a request has been filed to be able to see the details of license allocations in a single view.
This issue is from our system.
I have 108 name users licenses
5 assigned to the server
84 assigned to users with AD groups
9 to devices
totaling 98 licenses used
where are the other 10? I had 10 licenses available before we migrated to LFDS and ran into issues
