Question

Zone OCR doesn't seperate pages

asked on December 31, 2014 Show version history

I have a Zone OCR setup where I read text and then I have identification conditions setup over that text as "OCR Text contains XYZ".

When I run it on two or more than two copies of same documents, it should separate them as the identification condition will be true on each page and should create a separate document for all the documents but it actually puts all other documents at the back of the first document.

What am I missing here?

I have attached a screenshot as well (please note, as my QF session is currently running so the zone OCR area is not selected but it does cover around 30% of the top page area)

Hiya Uzair,

Hope you're well :)

The "Messages" log should show exactly what was detected in the OCR Zone. Can you copy'n'paste (not screenshot) that information here?

Hi Ben,

I am doing good thanks :)

I have checked the messages and they do show the right information extracted from the zone OCR.

Surprisingly, if I have two or more than two invoices for the same company as a single pdf, session does separate them in to multiple documents but if I have invoices for same company as multiple documents/tiffs, they don't get created as separated documents after processing through QF.

That is odd..

Just grasping as straws here... There is that setting for collating pages upon import. What ever that's set to change it ...  Also, I find it useful to copy and paste the OCR'd text from the messages and into a regex process because there are non-printing characters that cause issue on occasion.

Also are the PDF and scan documents the same DPI?
