Question

Client/Server Connection Problem. Error [6517].

asked on December 24, 2014

I am receiving this error all of a sudden, "The Laserfiche Server is from a previous version and cannot be accessed from this version of the client. [6517]". I have not updated the LF client or server.

LF Server Version: 9.1.1 build 545

LF Client Version: 9.1.1.548

Is this a problem with the build number difference even though this is a new problem?

Do you have multiple Laserfiche Servers deployed in your environment? Could the Client be trying to connect to a different server that you're not immediately aware of? Being the same version, but having a different build wouldn't cause this error to occur.

If you're certain that the Client is connecting to the correct Laserfiche Server (from the Client start screen, you used the "Attach" option to specify the server) then please open a case with your reseller so the issue can be looked into further.

Are you getting this when logging into the client?  Or with Snapshot?

What version of the LF client does it show as shown in help > about?  What version does lfs.exe show on the server?

I reattached a repository and was able to log in.

I believe what I did was pass in the wrong server name with my code, and when I went back to just the LF Client the wrong server was still configured. Thanks.
