Question

object must have its connection set before it can be used - trouble using stamps

asked on December 22, 2014

I am getting this error message on a document that I'm trying to test run through a workflow i just created.

The workflow is pretty simple - routes to a folder. When the document has been marked processed, it retrieves all of the metadata, stamps the document and moves it along. It appears that when it gets to the stamp portion, it gets a warning. I get the above error AND that the entry is locked. Then I can't delete the entry either, without closing out of Laserfiche and jumping back in. I haven't had this problem before, I also haven't used stamps before, but apparently I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas about how to fix this?

Is the stamp applied using the built-in activity or a script? What version of Workflow are you using?

Version 9.1.1.365 and yes, the stamp is the built-in activity. This workflow looks simple enough...

Edit: I should add, the first activity assigns a template field for invoice status, default to pending, and then it waits until it is changed to processed and then moves it along. But, when I "Play" the workflow, I can see that it's hung up on the stamp activity.

Hey Danielle,

Has this been resolved yet?  I spoke with some Workflow developers who weren't able to pinpoint the issue with the information provided, but they suggested opening a support case where we can do some more digging.

Hi Rob,

No, this has not been resolved yet. I just submitted a ticket to our VAR. I'll update this post with any resolution they find.
