laserfiche vss writer error

One of our customer is getting the following error on starting the Laserfiche VSS Writer Service:

"Could not start the Laserfiche VSS Writer service on local computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in timely fashion"

We have tried restarting Laserfiche related services but the error still comes up on starting the Laserfiche VSS Writer service.

Any thoughts?

What version of Laserfiche are you using? What is the OS and service pack of the LF VSS machine? Is it 32 or 64 bit?

You may want to open a support case so the issue can be more thoroughly investigated.

I have the same problem and prevents lifting services workflow I'm using Windows Server 2012, 64-bits

Hello, I cannot reproduce it inhouse. My OS is Windows Server 2012 standard, 64-bits. Laserfiche VSS Writer is 9.2.0.343.

You may want to open a support case so the issue can be more thoroughly investigated. When opening a support case, please provide following information: The version number of Laserfiche you are using, the OS and service pack of the LF VSS machine, and attach both application and system logs.

Also, Laserfiche VSS Writer service is aimed for volume shadow copy. If you don't need to use it, you may disable the Laserfiche VSS Writer service.

What do you mean by "prevents lifting services workflow"? Is there any service depending on Laserfiche VSS Writer service?

I'm sorry, what does this have to do with the Laserfiche VSS writer service that started this thread?

Did you configure the Workflow Server through the configuration wizard? There should be more information in your Event Viewer about why the service couldn't start.
