Question

The save Ribbon LF in Office document

asked on December 11, 2014

Saving under the Laserfiche Ribbon will require you to either

save as a new doc or

a new version?

Why the overwrite this document option is not visible?

Is the document under version control? If the document is under version control, the only options will be to create a new version or a new document, because once a document has been versioned, all changes to the document must be saved as a new version and you cannot simply overwrite the document.

To check if the document is under version control, open the metadata for the document and look at the Versions tab.

If there is a number in the tab and a list of versions, the document is under version control.

Instead of using the LF ribbon, go to Word. If you select File > Save, what options do you get?
