Question

Forms saving blank PDF to repository

asked on December 9, 2014

I have a form that saves the results/ form to a pdf into the repository. It has been working for weeks flawlessly. All of sudden it is saving a blank pdf to the repository, with absolutely nothing on it, plain white.  I've tried rebooting the server, recycling the app pool and website. I'm not sure what else I can try.

Thank you.

Are there any Forms related errors reported in the application event log on the Forms server whenever a form is submitted?

Without knowing more, the first thing to check would be the component that Forms uses to create the PDFs. You can try uninstalling the wkhtmltopdf application from the Windows Control Panel. Then manually browse the Forms 9.2 installation package and reinstall that component.

Alternatively, you can apply the latest Forms 9.2 hotfix from KB 1013577 and be sure to apply the updated version of wkhtmltopdf.

Thank you, That seemed to have fixed it. Is there anyway to resubmit a form so it goes through the pdf saving proccess again? I can't seem to find a way.

You're welcome. Currently there isn't a way to resubmit a completed form, but it's something we're considering.

Having the ability to resubmit a completed form is a feature that should be implemented.  This happened once with our form running 9.1.1. We are now receiving 10-30 forms per day with our application and expect over 100 filings a day during peak times.  The forms are filed by the general public who are mandated by law to file with us.  They would not appreciate a phone call asking them to file again due to a hiccup with our application.
