Question

Quick Fields doesn't scan pdf file right

asked on December 4, 2014

Hello,

I need to work with Quick Fields on pdf file. These pdf are generated by a third party application.

I have different instance of this app one instance have an older version than the others. Pdf file coming from the older version app are not complete, they miss the bottom of the page.

I'll attach 2 pdf one that is scanned right and one that is not scanned right (The part under the table is not scan) so you can try yourself.

As you can see, both documents have  data under the table but after QF scan them the "Good scan" still have these informations while the "bad scan" doesn't.

I have tried several pdf file from the older version application, everyone have the same issue.

In QF, when I try to set the picture sample from a scanned document I have the same trouble on the preview.

FYI, I use QF 8.3.0.360.

Regards.

Good scan.pdf (19.83 KB)
bad scan.pdf (11.15 KB)

They both work in Quick Fields 9. There were various fixes made to the PDF page-extraction feature for version 9.

Ok, I think the answer will be no but is it possible to run QF 9 with a LF Server 8.3 ?

Or do I need to update Server, Client and Quick Field in the same time ?

Yes, you can use Quick Fields 9 with Laserfiche Server 8.3. From the Quick Fields 9 readme file, it states

Laserfiche Quick Fields 9 requires version 8.1.2 or later of the Laserfiche Server.

Note: Quick Fields performs best with Laserfiche Server 9.0 or later.
