Question

How to login to Laserfiche using Windows credentials with Full Laserfiche client outside of network?

asked on December 2, 2014

Does anyone have a way other than VPN to get the Laserfiche client to work outside the domain with windows accounts? The goal is to have users at home on their home computers using the full Laserfiche client and a domain account.  Using password authentication is fine as long as we can use domain\user with password.

Web Access works perfectly with domain\user with password, why can't the full LF Client do the same?

Thanks,

Ken

We use RDP to an on site workstation with the Laserfiche client on it to achieve this.

As a side note, the reason this works with Web Access is because the authentication occurs on the Web Access machine, which is on your domain.  See this question for the details.  The client application has to be impersonating the Windows identity it wants to use to authenticate to the Laserfiche server, and this won't work if the client machine does not recognize the credentials you give it.

Brian,

The Laserfiche server would also be on the Domain like the Web Access server, so why can't it proxy the credentials passed through?  Seems like a feature request to me now.  An item in the Admin console that has a connection to AD would be good.

Does anyone have ideas?
