Question

ODBC Error

asked on December 2, 2014

I have successfully created an 64 bit ODBC Data Source with a Filemaker Pro Database on a separate server.  The test all went well.  When I try to select the table and columns to determine rows I get an error - "ODBC Error occurred. Make sure the data source (my ODBC source -LF Pull) in not opened in an external application. [0860-LFD1][Database=][Method=DiscoverDatabaseTables].

Has anyone seen this before.

Thank you in advance

That looks like the same issue as discussed in this thread.

Thanks for the quick reply Raymond but my error is different and we haven't been able to configure the "Query Criteria" at all.  I have included a copy of the error.  Like I stated above all the tests along the way up to this point have worked

Is the source in use by another application? Are you using 32 or 64 bit System DSNS on the ODBC config?

It is a database from FileMaker Pro.  They are in it all the time.  I had everyone log out and still got the same error.  I know that when I use SQL people are in the DB at the same time.  Is this different?

This is a generic wrapper message around an unexpected ODBC error. Can you check the communication or error logs (in WF Admin Console\Monitoring\Logs) for the complete message and post it here? (or zip up the entire Logs folders from Workflow's install directory and open a support case)

Hi Jeff, Did you ever find a solution to this? We are using FileMaker Pro as well.

I was able to resolve the problem by:

1) Uninstalling 64 bit Workflow

2) Installing 32 bit Workflow

3) Using 32 bit FileMaker ODBC driver

Unfortunately, 64 bit Workflow and 64 bit FileMaker ODBC driver was a no-go.
