A choice of Field background colour in a Template would enable a user to quickly recognise important fields or fields that belong to the same part of a process or workflow.  For example, initial data and approval fields for invoices.

Colours could be set from the Administration Console.  However, it would be even better if the background colours could be changed during a Workflow; to highlight fields for the current activity or to highlight fields that need to be processed by a particular User.  For example, as an invoice moves through approval the next approval field that requires attention could be highlighted.  Or a particular field that has not yet been filled could be highlighted.

I have been asked for this feature by my customers.  I have also seen it in other metadata-based software and it works well.
