Question

The PDF File did not match - Workflow 9.2, Forms 9.2 and Rio 9.2

asked on November 20, 2014

Hi,

I have setup a approval submission form in Forms, I have a fillable PDF form which I created. I have made a workflow as attached just to retrieve Forms Contents and then fill in PDF Form. I have created the workflow over and over, I have deleted the Fill out PDF Form and added the fields over and over. I have the same problem at a client too. The PDF Goes into Laserfiche, but nothing is filled in then. When I search workflow it gives me a warning "The PDF File did not match".

Is there anything else I can have a look at?

Hey Gert,

This error means that the PDF that you've got saved in the WF admin console is different from the one you're trying to fill out. This means the PDF that you're passing into the Fill Out PDF Form activity has got to be exactly the same as the Master PDF Form: if one of them has one field filled in and the other doesn't you'll get this error.

The easiest way to fix this is to re-copy the Master Form from wherever you're getting it from and paste it into the Laserfiche repository so you know you're using an identical version.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the Feedback, However this is one of the 1st things i have checked out. It is the same file that i attach to the WF as the PDF Master form. I have attached the WF that i have built as well. I have deleted and pasted the copy in my root directory to add to WF as the Master PDF and then pasted that PDF doc in LF as a template which i use a find activity to use the same PDF Doc.

Thanks

Hi Gert,

If you are still having trouble, would you be able to attach a copy of your fillable PDF? That way we can do some testing with it as well.

With the sample PDF you provided I was able to successfully use the Fill Out PDF Form activity in Workflow, using values retrieved from Forms. My system is running Workflow, Client, Server, and Forms 9.2. Here are the steps I took:

1. First I imported a copy of the PDF into the repository.

2. Then I created a simple Forms process, called "Test." Upon submitting the form, the process started the workflow via a service task.

3. The workflow in question consisted of three activities:

First the workflow retrieves the value from the submitted form's field. Then it finds the PDF in the repository via entry ID. Then the Fill Out PDF Form activity puts the value retrieved from Forms into a field in the PDF in the repository.

The workflow ran successfully with no errors.

Please check your configuration. In particular, double check the entry and the master PDF form to be used in your Fill Out PDF Form activity.

Hi Kelsey,

Thanks you. I have done all of the above BUT I have not used the ID in workflow to specify the "Find Entry", instead I used the file path.

It is now working :)

Thank you for your help.
