QF doesn't read PDF if PDF not selected in 'Only retrieve files with the following extensions'

posted on November 19, 2014

I am trying to scan pdfs for a windows folder (shared drive) and I have Universal Capture >> Setup >> Retrieve Files as: folder where PDFs are and I have kept the 'Only retrieve files with the following extensions' as empty, as we will be having both PDFs and TIFF files in this folder.

But with 'Only retrieve files with the following extensions' empty, QF doen't import/scan the PDFs. BUT when I select 'pdf' under the dropdown for 'Only retrieve files with the following extensions' it then starts importing/scanning pdfs. Now the problem is, I can have 'pdf' selected as this way it will ignore all other files e.g. tif.

Am I missing any settings here?

That is expected behavior. If no file extension is specified, not files will be read. You can add a custom filter for both PDF and TIFF: "*.pdf, *.tif".

I have tried adding custom filter, but no luck. Please see the screenshots attached.

You started this thread as a discussion, not a question. Discussions are meant to be open-ended, so they don't have an "answer".

No worries, you're not the first one. I passed it on to our user experience team so they can make it better.
