Question

Customize Weblink Search Results

asked on November 18, 2014

I have a couple questions on customizing a clients weblink 8.2 search results.  We've already made a modification to use the old <weblink:searchresultsbrowser> Instead of <weblink:searchresultsbrowser8>  which works great, but we'd like to remove the "Hits" Column, now I've made the change suggested here https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/58679/Weblink-Customization  and I've added DefaultSortField="Name"  but this causes the page to fail.  I was wondering if this is because we're using the old columns result browser instead of the browser8? And if there’s another way to do this?

Also we'd like to change the search results so that the entire row is a hyperlink to the document, and not just the name of the doc, is this possible do you think?  Thanks in advance,

 ~Brandon

Hi Brandon,

I spoke with the WebLink development team and had them take a look at your question.  They said that the changes you referenced should be compatible with the version 7 search results configuration, but didn't have time to do much testing yesterday. They're going to continue looking into it, and follow up with their results, and any suggestions about how you can turn the entire row into a hyperlink.
