I have seen other ECM solutions that include something similar to Forms Identification and Zonal OCR in their workflow products. I can see this as a huge benefit because if a form is identifiable and zonal OCR zones can be setup to capture the necessary data, there is no reason that someone should have to manually run a Quick Fields session. I see this type of thing more as a Workflow activity since it could be automated. Please take it into consideration.

While I agree it would be nice to have a lot of these things available, there is a reason for Quick Fields Agent being a product, which is so that users do not need to manually run a QF Session.
You do have the option to use a "Retrieve PDF Form Content" Activity in your workflows though to extract information in a form. The only other option is to have the document text used as a pattern match, which you might be able to do consistently with the use of Distributed Clustering to reprocess documents and ensure they have consistent settings when extracting text before your pattern match
