Question

Calling another Workflow from a workflow

asked on November 17, 2014

Hi,

I'm trying to call another workflow from a workflow. The workflow I am calling works fine independently. But when I call it with this, I'm getting error messages like "synchronization is disabled. Notification queue address is empty." I have attached the error snapshot for more details. Can you please tell me what is going wrong here?

Regards,

Shraddha

Can you try restarting the Workflow server? If that doesn't help could you show the error log in the event viewer?

Howdy,

I am the SysAdmin for Shradda's system, we have restarted the Worfkflow server. No errors are recorded in the Window application or system logs, and no error is recorded in the LFWorkflow log.

Can you include the workflows mentioned or a screenshot of the invoke workflow activity used?

Hi Carl,

I am attaching the "first workflow" snapshot which calls the second workflow "Fiscal Year Finder". Snapshots of both workflows are attached.

Shraddha

Hi Shraddha,

Is the first workflow initiated from a Forms process?

The Fiscal Year Finder is trying to work off the starting entry of Workflow #1, which if called from Forms, is Entry ID 0, an invalid entry.

What conditions cause Workflow #1 start?

Cheers,

Carl

Carl,

Not exactly sure of the details on Shraddha's workflow, but we are seeing the same errors when we manually run a simple test workflow that runs a known good workflow from the Workflow Designer.

Hi Tim,

Is the Workflow Web Service configured and tested out ok?

To confirm, any time you use the invoke Workflow activity the error shows up?
