Forms 9.2 Upgrade - when attaching the repository "exception has been thrown by target of invocation"

asked on November 17, 2014

Hi,

This is now the second time this is happening to me. I have upgraded our own internal server and then when I do the Laserforms Configuration, I get a error where it says exception has been thrown by target of invocation.

I have left it over night and then the Repository was attached when I left it on the "Loading" Field as in the picture I have attached.

The same thing Is happening now where I upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2 and it is giving me that error.

Is this a common problem since it happened twice to me?

Thanks

Please check the service account used for the Forms Routing Service.

Also check the identity of the FormsAppPool in IIS.

Make sure that both are using accounts that have access to the SQL Server. In particular to the application pool, make sure to use an actual domain account instead of "Application Pool Identity".

However again i just left it for a couple hours over night and then the next morning it attached the DB.

It is not a common problem and we can't reproduce your issue inhouse, the steps I did are:

1. install Forms 9.1

2. open Configuration, create a new database for Forms and use SQL Server Authentication and go to repository tab to set the Laserfiche Server with "localhost" and select a repository to configure and save

3. without uninstall Forms 9.1, install Forms 9.2 directly, Forms will be upgraded to 9.2 and open Configuration at end of installation

4. Update the database after open configuration and then go to repository tab, check the Laserfiche Server and Repository can be correctly loaded.

Please check what the differences between your steps and mine and I suggest you open an support case with detail information for deeper trouble shooting.

Hi Xiuhong,

Please see my comment above.

i have Upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2 and upgraded the DB.

I have followed the steps exactly as you have. Even Restarted a few times, created a new DB.

I just left it over night on the "Loading" option and it connected to the DB.

Thanks
