Azure Active Directory and Windows Authentication w/Laserfiche On-Premise

asked on November 13, 2014 Show version history

I would assume that if someone had a local active directory sever integrated with the Azure Active Directory framework that there would be no issues with authenticating through Active Directory in Laserfiche. Please confirm.

However, my concern is how Laserfiche would handle an environment only using the Azure Active Directory framework. Would users still be able to leverage the Windows Authentication in Laserfiche through Azure?

There shouldn't be issues authenticating through Active Directory in Laserfiche in a setup using both Active Directory and Azure AD.  It looks like the identities from the on-premises directory are synced to and made available to cloud applications, but not the other way around.

Azure AD is meant to extend on-premises users and groups to cloud services, so an environment with it alone would only work with cloud applications and not Laserfiche.  You can find more information about Azure AD in this article as well as Microsoft's documentation.

I have this question too: we are moving from on prem hybrid AD and AAD environment to purely AAD... and I cannot find a way to get Azure AD only accounts to work with Laserfiche on prem. Would like to know more about our options.

We  have Azure AD only and would like to know if it's possible to use Windows Authentication.  I do not want to use SAML.

Obviously Empower is on right now so does a newer version allow this?
