Question

Question

configuring directory named users vs. repository named users

asked on November 12, 2014

Hi there

my client added 2 additional named users to their system.  I've updated their master license to now show that they have 2 more users.

when you go to the properties of the named users and devices it says now that I have 36 directory named users, 0 repository named users and 1 license remaining.

how do I change it to make that one license remaining license to be used as a repository named user?

so that the end result will be 36 directory named users and 1 repository named user.

Thanks

Lindsey

Hi Lindsey,

Repository named users are allocated to specific Laserfiche Server application instances. If this is regarding the Rio License Manager Administration Console 8.3.1, then you can edit the properties of the existing Laserfiche Server registered application instance and assign it the repository named user license. Now you'll just need to generate a new license from the License Manager and then replace the Laserfiche Server license file accordingly. If the customer is using an older version, then you would need to unregister the Laserfiche Server application instance and re-register it while specifying the one repository named user license you want to assign to it. Then you'd still need to generate a new license file for the Laserfiche Server and replace it.
