Question

The application was unable to start correctly (oxc0150004)

asked on November 7, 2014

When launching LF Client 9.0.2 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, getting the message box:

"LF.exe - Application Error"  The application was unable to start correctly (oxc0150004). Click OK to close the application

We are getting this after having a whole bunch of issues with a few tries at getting Tyler Incode integration  to work.

Tyler had installed/uninstalled Client 9.1, Installed 9.0.1, Installed SDK Runtime 9.1, 9.0, 8.0, basically a lot of scrambling to get things working.  (finally got the InCode content manager window working)

The problem was after that, the Scanning engine was giving an error and not able to open the scan source dialog.  I uninstalled all of the Laserfiche components, cleaned up all of the install folders, deleted the winsxs files specified in LF KB articles (zlib_, etc...).  Rebooted, ran CCleaner.

After all that did a fresh install of LF Client 9.0.1 and now have the message specified above.

Any ideas?

Try deleting the LFScanProcesses.xml from C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Scanning\Errors and reopening Scanning to re-generate a clean one.

If you press Ctrl+Shift+E to open the application errors pane, are there any errors listed after you open the scan engines list?

What version are you on right now?

Uninstall it again but this time, use http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Then reinstall.

Uninstalled all of the Laserfiche components with the fixit tool, then re-installed.  Still got the same message.

Ended up running a system restore and the Client is now launching.  Just a problem with having WIA as the only scan source available (the original problem I was trying to fix with the uninstall-reinstall)

version currently running is 9.0.1 (latest that InCode works with according to Tyler).

We will try the suggestions when customer is back in the office.
