Question

Office 365 and Weblink Email

asked on November 6, 2014

Hello,

We are currently having an issue where we are getting an error when trying to setup Weblink to be able to send email.  The client has set up a relay server and DOES have Laserfiche forms working just fine.  For some reason, Weblink configuration seems to be different.  I've attached two screenshots, one of their Admin settings and one with the error email from their relay exchange server.

If anyone can provide any guidance as to why Weblink specifically isn't playing nice, please let me know!  Thank you,

Scott

SMTP server authentication is supported in WebLink 9 which has just been released. You can configure this in the administration utility.

When you hit the "Test" button in the configuration, does it work?

How did you try to send the email that generated the notepad screenshot?

The notepad screenshot is the test email that was sent.  It never makes it to the inbox.

The mail server you are using is expecting a valid email address from the originating source. You will need to configure it to not require authentication and/or not require a valid source address.

It tries to connect to the SMTP server anonymously so they just need to configure that on their end

Authentication is set to Anonomus Access.  When they try and set the outbound security to anonymous, the email still fails.

Fails with the same message?

Yes, that's correct.

You should check the mail server logs.  That would still make it a mail server issue.  The other alternative is to configure another mail server that simply forwards emails to your primary mail server.
