Is there any possible way of recovering folder shortcuts in a particular folder? I was hoping audit trail could give me some information but it is down since our upgrade to 9.x.
Question
Question
deleting shortcuts
Answer
thanks for all the wonderful responses. I was able to get Audit Trail up and running again after the upgrade yesterday. I successfully pulled the report that showed the list of shortcuts that were deleted. We are in the process of restoring all 200+ shortcuts.
In the future I will be looking at a way to make these 'workflow' driven vs user created. At least I will have a second way of locating them.
Thanks again,
Bonnie

Audit Trail should never be down. I would recommend contacting your IT Team or VAR to help get that back up.
Back to the question though, they might be in the backup of the system if it was recent. I do not think audit trail will have that information, but I might be wrong. Maybe you retrieved the shortcuts in a workflow and tracked tokens giving you the list of the shortcuts.
Unfortunately they were manual shortcuts created and not 'workflow' generated. earlier this morning I commented to the department that we should use workflow because it gives us another way of finding things.
I will work with team members to find out how we can restore the previous days repository without it affecting the current one. All I need is a screen print of one folder.
If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great.
As Kenneth pointed out, you can revert to a backup of when the system still contained those shortcuts.
If the backup is unavailable, I'd suggest checking Audit Trail and the Laserfiche Recycling Bin, but it sounds like that won't be possible. Outside of these options there's not really anything else to check for manually created shortcuts that were deleted.
The shortcuts needed to point to something in Laserfiche, but I'm assuming the original documents are gone as well?
