I found this kb article https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1011020 on preventing the client from automatically scanning for repositories but it seems like it's just a prevent on a workstation or individual user basis. Would this have to be done on every computer that ends up having Laserfiche installed on it?

The following kb article https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1012732 should be done at the server level and prevent the lf server from broadcasting repositories.

Yes. You can export the key as a *.reg file and import it on each client that you need it set on.
Alternatively, you can you can delete a Laserfiche Server's associated SCP to prevent Active Directory from returning a list of available repositories. Client programs can still manually specify a server name and repository name to connect to a repository. https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1012732
