Question

Saving Office document

asked on October 30, 2014

Starting with LF 9.1.1 there seems to be a difference in the way Office documents are saved. If you click on an office document in the repository and make some changes and hit the diskette icon to save, Laserfiche gives you 3 choices:

- Override existing document

- Create a new version

- Create a new document

Then, if the user leaves the document open and does some other changes and save again, no choices are proposed. Laserfiche remembers the previous choice and save. Is this intended to be a better Office Integration than before or some kind of settings that have to be set to change this behaviour ?

I believe that feature was intended to make things more convenient for the user. If you're looking to keep the same behavior, you can click on the "save to laserfiche" icon under the Laserfiche ribbon instead of hitting the save icon. Essentially you have the same options but they are separated after your first save.
