Error Lfscanning Failure to retrieve COM class factory

asked on October 24, 2014

Hi there,

We are trying to use lfscanning as usual, but for some reason today is not working, we lfscan opens it shows a message saying "

Laserfiche Scanning:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

    COMException:
Failure to retrieve COM class factory component with CLSID {3DF14013-6449-49F8-A3E2-7FB27A184B96} due to the following error: 800702e4. "

Does anyone had this problem before??

thanks for the help!

There is a known issue with the hotfix where in some cases it replaces 32-bit files with their 64-bit versions and causing LFScanning's scan engines to stop loading.

Delete the following files, then repair the installation to get back the original ones:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\9.1\BPImageWrapper91.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor\BPInterfacesClient.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor\BPObjectsClient91.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor\BPOCRClientWrapper90.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor\BPPageFixClient91.dll

Do you have Kofax installed? You should be able to click OK on the error message and then pick a different scan engine.
