Gloria,  Did you see the Report Schedules now available in 10.3.1?

I'm looking for this too. I have a report that I would like to automatically write to a .csv file on a network drive at 6:30 every morning. I know I can do this manually myself, but the keyword here is automatically.

I did. We are waiting a couple of answers to questions we have with our VAR before moving forward with an upgrade from Ver. 10.2 to Ver. 10.3.1. Thanks!

Hi Caroline,

To be more specific: I have already outlined reports on forms. What I am looking for, is an automated method of generating these reports on a given time. Currently, we have to manually go to Forms and get the report. We want to be able to do this automatically.

Depending on what information you want to include, you could certainly set up automatic reporting using a workflow.  Here are a couple ways to accomplish this:

If you're looking to generate reports using data from a form's fields, you could set up a workflow to first retrieve the Laserfiche Forms content, then insert the data into an .xlsx or .csv (just like the one you'd download directly from Laserfiche Forms).  You would then add a starting rule to run the workflow on a schedule.

If you are reporting business process data, you could have a service task in the Process Modeler fill out template fields with process variables, then have a workflow retrieve these fields and write them to your spreadsheet.  Alternatively, you could have a service task save the process data as an XML file, then have a workflow read this file and write to your spreadsheet.  Similar to the above situation, you'd add a starting rule to run the workflow on a schedule.

The form is a complex, multi step approval process. These steps can take several days before they're completed and they're not necessarily saved in Laserfiche before the approval is completed. The reports we have set up show information as to what step in the process they're currently in as well as some field information. From what you're telling me, there's basically no way to use the report I already have in place, but rather I would need to build my own "custom" report by saving what information I need after each single step in the process. Isn't there a way to access the report I have already built?

Caroline, regarding Edgar's original request, have things changed significantly in 10.2 (10.3) that would change your response of 10/21/2014?

What kind of information are you looking to include in your reports?

Laserfiche Forms does have the capability of generating reports with the information from the form as well as information pertaining to the business process itself.  The Working with Process Results and Reports help file outlines how to create, edit, filter, and download these reports.

Is there a way to make reports from the fields in Laserfiche without using Forms?

Thanks.
