If you import the file into your VAR kit, does it work when you try to open it?
We've had cases where this is caused by the antivirus application they are using. Please make sure that all the LF files, folders, executables and processes are exceptions to the antivirus that is installed on both the client side and server side.
Raymond, I've got a similar situation with the 781 error, and customer using Webroot Antivirus on the workstations and Server. The server Admin is asking which exact "LF Files, folders, executables and processes" should be declared as exceptions on the workstations? Thanks.
Some antivirus applications require that you name specific paths to exclude. For Laserfiche, that would be:
- all the files and folders in Program files\Laserfiche,
- all the files and folders in Program files (x86)\Laserfiche,
- all the files in Program files\common files\Laserfiche,
- all the exe files in those folders.
Note that these are default paths. If you changed the install paths for the Laserfiche applications, you will need to specify those yourself.
Some antivirus applications will require that you also exclude running applications. For Laserfiche you will need to exclude the LF applications that are running by checking Task Manager. In Task Manager, look at the Processes tab for LF processes in there as well as in the Applications tab for running Laserfiche applications and include those in the exceptions rule for the antivirus.
Given the specific error message in this case, it seems more likely that the anti-virus is messing with the network traffic. If you can't configure the AV to not interfere with the network connection to LFS, enabling SSL is often a good workaround.
Thanks, Gents, for the quick help!
