Question

Contents should store on LTO

asked on October 15, 2014 Show version history

User is having LTO storage available at their infrastructure. They are having files in GBs like movie files and audio files. Can we store these files directly to LTO storage?

LTO drive will have LTFS (Linear tape file system). Does it require any extra configuration? If you have any screenshots with LTO configuration, please share.

it is for archiving purpose but it should be in repository so user can search the content anytime.

As long as the LTO storage can be referenced by a UNC path, Laserfiche can use it as a storage location for content. My understanding is that LTO storage is slow; keep in mind that the slowdown your storage causes will appear as slowdown in the Laserfiche Client when opening entries with content stored in that location. If you absolutely need to use LTO storage, consider setting up a secondary volume for that purpose, and only moving items there that are infrequently referenced. More information about setting up a volume can be found in the Laserfiche Administration help files.

Thanks for the reply.

How can I reference or change the path of repository to store the documents directly to LTO or any network drive?

You can read point 8 and 9 about changing volume path in the help files here.

Please check attached files.

there are two folders I have mapped as network drive: 1) R: - drive that is our local folder on Server 2) Z: - webdav mapping of document library from SharePoint Portal

neither of these drives are visible to configure document storage.

Provide me suitable guidance or some link to review.

Services are typically unaware of drive mappings.  You need to use the UNC path instead of a drive mapping.

\\some server name\sharename\Folder
