Document Export

asked on October 14, 2014 Show version history

Hi there.

I have the following situation where I have no clue about what is going on.

Scenario I - Using Laserfiche 8.3 client

I get a document with 18 pages about 35 Mbytes in size, TIFF GrayScale. I export this file in TIFF GroupIV B/W. After 1 minute or 2 I get the file. If I try to open it in windows nothing happens. I´ve try with all the app that windows provide me.

Inside Laserfiche client I can open the file with no problems at all.

Scenario II - Using a WCF developed with toolkit

When I issue the API to export the file, the process starts (I can see in Windows Explorer the file growing). Suddenly the file stops to grow for 2 minutes than its start to grow again very slowly. This start and stop growing repeat several times until the file export is completed.

We could perform a lot of other tests. I can asure that:

1 - SQL Server is OK because the running query is executed very fast

2 - The access to the file server where is the LF Repository is accessible and has a lot of free space

3 - The Index was created again today

4 - The file is opened free of errors inside Laserfiche Client (Why do not export?)

This WCF works for more than 2 years. Nothing was changed into the customer environment. Laserfiche Server and Client are both in 8.3.

Any help will be very welcomed.

Regards

This is definitely not expected behavior. We'll need a little bit more information to help you out.

  • Does this happen with all documents in the repository, or only a select few?
  • Have you tried exporting from multiple computers, and opening the exported document from multiple computers? Does it behave the same across them all?
  • Can you attach a sample document that we can take a look at?
  • Which version of the client and the server are you on exactly? The version number should look something like 8.3.1.1234.
