I would like to report what I believe to be a fault with the new Financial Aid demo, which I have run repeatedly and successfully to full completion, albeit that I have had to hack the demo at a particular point in order for the demo to complete to end.
The purpose of reporting what I believe to be a fault with the Financial Aid demo is to obtain a fix for the fault so that the demo is a lot more elegant.
The fault manifests itself when the Award Allocation icon is clicked and launches the following shortcut:
http://localhostForms/Award?Student_Folder_ID=%(FolderID)"
The idea of the above shortcut is that fields on the form that is displayed by the shortcut are prefilled with details retrieved via lookup by matching an entry within the Folder ID column on the SIS table of the ExternalTables database.
The fault that I believe exists is that the ID of the relevant folder within Laserfiche can become out of sync with the Folder ID of the associated entry within the SIS table of the External Tables database.
In order to rectify the fault and therefore complete the demo, it is necessary to update the Folder ID column for the relevant entry within the SIS table of the ExternalTables database with the value of the Folder ID of the relevant Laserfiche folder and then to relaunch the above Award Allocation form.
The SQL update intervention makes running the demo very inelegant in front of a customer and I would be very grateful if somebody could please suggest a solution to this problems that results in it the above Award Allocation shortcut successfully prefilling the Award form with correct details from the SIS tables of the ExternalTables database without the database having to be updated in order for this to work.
Many thanks, in anticipation.
With regards.
