Question

Forms - Is it possible to create a report and filter it by a variable?

asked on October 8, 2014

We have the following scenario:

We have a form that people from different countries are filling in. They select their country, and based on the country additional information is displayed. They submit the Form and an approval process begins.

We need a way to show managers from each country where the status of the form is (step in the approval process). We would do this by creating a report within Forms. However, each manager from each country should not be able to see what other countries are submitting (Colombia should only be able to see Colombia's Forms, Argentina only Argentina's, etc). However, the filtering options for the reports on either Forms 9.1.1 or Forms 9.2.0 do not allow me to filter the report by country (at least not that I can see).

Is there a way to accomplish this?

The only way to currently filter based on a variable is to export to Excel first and then use Excel's sorting features.

Thanks for the suggestion Blake!

In other words, there's no way to do this within Forms. This would be a nice feature to have.

Hi,

Has there been any update with this? we have version 10.3 of Forms, the client requires to make filters within the same tool without having to export it to excel, even this is not possible?
