Searching - How to hide folders I don't have rights to as ADMIN

posted on October 7, 2014

How would I go about hiding folders I don't have rights to as the ADMIN user, someone removed rights from my admin account and I don't want those entries showing up in the search results. This account seems to bypass this option and I am unable to edit the privaleges

If you're just trying to remove folders from view that you shouldn't have rights to, then make sure to remove the privilege of "Bypass Browse" and any items you're not permitted to should no longer appear in your folder view or search results.

If you are trying to hide folders from the ADMIN user, you will need to remove the "Bypass Browse" privilege from that user. To edit the privileges of the ADMIN user, you will need to be logged in as a user other than ADMIN that has the privilege "Set Trustee Privileges".

If you are trying to modify the privileges that have been granted to the ADMIN user, then you'll need to log into the Administration Console as a user other than ADMIN that also has the "Set Trustee Privileges" privilege.

Ok, that is what I ended up doing. I was trying to just ignore the folders but I instead added my ADMIN account to them. Thanks
