Workflow Server Config - Always says SQL Auth password is invalid even when it is correct

posted on October 4, 2014

Every time I run workflow configuration I get a message that the SQL password is invalid, no matter if it IS valid or not. I must re-enter the password to continue. There is also no warning that you lose your SQL connection information if the wizard is re-run.

I don't have to re-enter the SQL password in the Change DBMS Repository Wizard and that is the SAME concept.

When your working with 100 different environments this is very frustrating because sometimes coordinating with someone who has the password is not easy.

Hi Chad,

Come to think of it I too have seen this. Seems to only be if you are using the SA account for example. This doesn't happen when using windows authentication to connect to SQL.

I think Win Auth is authenticating with the domain in real time, so there is no stored password info to lose.

Thanks for reporting this. We'll be looking into it and will update the thread when more information is available.
