Is there a way that I can set the settings in a user account so that when they double click in the folder view on a document to open, it will ALWAYS open the same way?

What we are experiencing is users accidently closing down some of the panes.  They don't 'close' the active document when this happens.... so when they go to click on the next document to open, it opens like the previous document.  Even when the document has been closed and they go to open the next document it will revert back to 'how it was closed'.

Would like to have the ability to ALWAYS view the document the same way - no matter how it was shut down.
