Question

Issue with link document and even when sending documents

asked on October 1, 2014

Dear All,

We have LF Rio 9.1.1.486 installed and we are currently facing an issue with link documents.

When someone is sending a link document to another staff, the latter is not receiving the updated one? Is this a known issue

I'm also getting this error when sending the document instead of using link option

We have office 2013 installed

This issue is erratic.

I don't quite understand the situation. Are you emailing document links like this?

And what do you mean when you say they are not getting the updated one?

Hi Robert,

As you mentioned in your reply, yes we are emailing the document with the link function.

however, the person receiving the link document does not received the change that have been made to the document.

below is the way the error occur:

  • I created a word document on laserfiche yesterday and made changes to same
  • After changes were made, I saved the document (the option overwrite document did appear and the document was saved)
  • I reopened the document just afterwards in order to make sure that changes made to the document were saved
  • Afterwards I created a link email on laserfiche to send the word document for review to another staff
  • Today morning, I understand that the word document that I created yesterday did not had the changes that I made

Maybe you have the document checked out so that you are seeing your local copy, but other people see the copy that is on the Laserfiche server? Does the document have the pencil icon shown here?

Hi Robert,

The document in question was never check out.

I got another same issue. This time the user have put the document in the email and send it to another staff.

When latter opened it, he does not see the updated version of the document from LF.

However the person who modified the document open it from LF the changes are there.

I don't see any rational behind it?

Yeah, I don't see how this is possible. Please open a support case so we can troubleshoot the problem.
