Question

Show Laserfiche documents as Recent Documents in Microsoft Office apps

asked on September 29, 2014

I haven't seen this feature request come up yet, but maybe it has!

I would to see my Laserfiche documents show up as recent documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.

Today, only files stored on my local drive show up.

Sure.

The use case is:

A user is leveraging the benefits of Laserfiche to store, edit, retrieve and collaborate on their electronic documents.  On a daily basis, they open their Microsoft office application, say Word.  To make it easy to access their most recently used Word documents, they select the "Office" icon in Word, which displays their recent documents.  They review the recent documents, and select a document,  which opens, and they work on it.

As far as I can tell, the Word recent documents list only works with documents stored on a Windows file system.  Laserfiche documents are not included in the recent documents list.

Any user that uses Microsoft Office applications and Laserfiche would benefit from this.

Hi Franz,

Can you give us more information about the use case for this feature? What advantages would it bring you? What types of users would especially benefit from this?

I totally agree that this would be a great feature.  I always use the recently used documents list in the Office applications to open my documents.  The Laserfiche 'Recently Opened Documents' list is nice, but too short.
