Question

Maximum number of sessions for server instance reached & cross domain

asked on September 25, 2014

Hi, wonder if you can help here.. repo LFAPP is hosted on vfc domain  and all works fine in that they can sign on to weblink .Trying to access weblink  using another's domain, TDBFG, account .This  TDBFG AD Account is in admin console. When they log on , they get message "Maximum number of sessions for that server instance has been  reached". Weblink is setup  with Auto Windows Authentication. Even if user is set to "readonly"  they get the message.

Admin console shows Public portal processors assigned =2; Total Public Portal Connections = Unlimited

Suggested that a trust needs to be established and user says  that there is a 2 way trust setup between tdbfg and the vfc.ca domain , as they are able to add tdbfg accounts into Laserfiche.

LF server 8.3.1.663. weblink 8.2.1

Go into the Laserfiche Administration Console and check the Windows Accounts node. For the TDBFG domain account, what does it say in the "Named User" column?

Sorry for the delay Alex. .. answer: false . They tried with Read only Access as well as Trusted access and it makes no difference. Here is a screenshot

Since this user is not a named user, then the account needs to be set as read-only in order to log into the repository through WebLink using a Public Portal connection. You would also need to make sure that the user does not have the Manage Trustees privilege either explicitly assigned or inherited as part of the LF Project group.

Otherwise, if the user should not be read-only, then they will need to have a named user license in order to log in.
