Question

Distributed Computing Cluster not registering

asked on September 24, 2014

I am getting an error message when I try to register a newly installed Distributed Computing Cluster:

Can not register localhost. Exception: An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http://localhost:8108/Laserfiche/DistributedProcessing/INodeMetaData. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details.

I haven't been able to track down any fixes.

Any suggestions?

Can you confirm that your firewall has port 8108 open? The other possibility is that another application on the DCC server is already running on port 8108 so you may need to change the port that DCC uses. You can review the resolution steps from KB 1013428 for information on how to change the port.

Thank you Alex.  The port was opened, but was being occupied by the mobile distributed processing processing node service.  I changed the ports following the KB and it is working fine now.

Thanks,
