Why does the Rio Licence Manager get a corrupted database

asked on September 24, 2014

HI,

One of our customers has a situation where their RIO Licence database has corrupted.

They upgraded their Licence Manager to the absoloute latest version, however this didn't resolve their issue (SQL Errors reported).

After several discussions we got them to delete their licence database and recreate it.

This isn't the first time that this has happened with differing customers.

Does anybody have any clue as to the underlying cause of this corruption ?

Chris

The rio license manager uses sqlite for the license database and it reads/writes directly to a single *.db file stored on disk.

You noted SQL errors. What SQL errors are those?

As for why the db file might get corrupted, it's uncertain without seeing the db itself and also getting an idea of what they were doing between the time the db was working fine vs when they noticed the corruption.  For that you may need to open a support case should the issue present itself again.

Thanks Raymond, we did open a support ticket, and were told to upgrade LM and then during a chat session, to delete the db if that didn't resolve the issue.

Are we able to open the db file with tools ourselves ?

You can use the tool from here to view the db.
