Question

New LaserRepository name

asked on September 23, 2014

I have downloaded the latest demo LaserRepository.

Unfortunately I am unable to use it in its present state.

I already have a LaserRepository from 2013, which I have added to extensively and I want to keep.

I can rename the new repository but the SQL database will not load due to there already being one with the same name.  If I change the DB name to something else it causes an error when I try to load it.

Any chance of you renaming the new demo to something like LaserRepository2014?

Any suggestion how I can get the SQL DB to load under a different name?

When you attach a database in SQL Mgt Studio, you get an option to change the database name:

One quick fix might be to turn off Laserfiche Server to avoid issue and detach the old database, attach the new one then use the rename command in SQL Management Studio and change that to LaserRepository2014.

Once you've updated that name you can re-attach your original 2013 DB again, and start the LF Server.
