RA is .NET library that does not wrap LFSO. RA and LFSO both provide similar access to the Laserfiche Server. Repository Access does include a large number of methods (through its static classes) that provide more direct access to the repository resource than LFSO can achieve. One example is that it is possible to grab the field values or a particular page of a document without first doing a 'GetEntryById'.
