Question

Using Laserfiche with Wyse Thin Client

asked on September 19, 2014

We have a client that is going to be bringing a new department up on Laserfiche and they are going to be using Dell Wyse thin clients.  I was wondering if any one has had much experience using these and if they have ran into any limitations using the Laserfiche client with a Thin client workstation.  Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Please look at the previous discussion regarding Wyse clients with LF in the old forum:  https://support.laserfiche.com/ForumsFrames.aspx?Link=viewtopic.php%3ft%3d12232%26amp.

"LF is generally unaware of RDP so there is not likely to be any problems. However, WYSE has not been tested or fully certified."

Hello Derrick!

What do you have upstream of the thin clients?

We have a pilot VDI project going on, with Dell Wyse thin clients connecting to VMWare View Horizon workstations.  I've tested Laserfiche, including scanning, and we had no issues.

But - a lot would depend on the virutal setup.

We too want to use WYSE thin clients for running Laserfiche, but we get an error stating it cannot complete the install when attempting to load Laserfiche to the thin client.  Since the old article in the old forum isn't available, what is possible using a thin client and Laserfiche?  Are there precedents that we can look to?

We are looking at a client with Thin clients as well with the full Laserfiche Client.

Is this is a doable workaround can we discuss this?  I also wanted to know if this isn't supported then we can look at options getting them web access.

What sort of environment are you using?  What are the thin clients connecting to?
