Question

Stamp should be movable but not editable

asked on September 17, 2014

My requirement:

- visible to all

- move stamp by all

- can be editable only by document owner or creator

Also if I am using workflow activity to apply stamp then its owner is workflow not the person who has initiated the workflow. How can I change the owner of the stamp, because the person who has initiated the workflow then not able to edit it.

Hi Ashish,

When applying a stamp, if you set that stamp's style to protected (which you can do by opening up the stamp's properties), only the annotation's creator or the document owner will be able to edit it. While other users will be able to see the annotation, they will not be able to move it (as this would be considered editing the stamp). In your scenario what is the benefit of a user being able to move a stamp, but not edit it? Perhaps we can come up with a work around.

If applying the stamp with Workflow, you can set the stamp as protected within the properties of the Apply Stamp activity as well. The stamp creator will be set as Workflow, but you can change the entry's owner to the workflow initiator with the Set Entry Owner activity.

If I am not wrong then entry owner will treated as document owner. I have 10-15 users who is in this business process.

10-15 users will annotate the document with stamps then they require facility to move the stamp but not to edit the stamp.
