Hey everyone:
I'm Marty Gaffney, and I hail from The Town of Okotoks in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada (just south of Calgary). This past year, the Town approved expanding our IT department to have a Project Manager, as well as a (semi-)dedicated Laserfiche person (that would be me). Now that we have a new person on board, she's had a fresh look at all of the various departments and their procedures, and the sky's the limit with the ideas that are coming up! It's exciting to watch as all of the departments are slowly turning orange (or as we've called it here, the "orange tidal wave")! ![]()
One question I had while I'm here (for the Laserfiche Group admins) - are there any plans for a Laserfiche Group dedicated to Records Management, or should these discussions take place here?
Great having the chance to meet some of you last week at the conference, and looking forward to chatting with all of you here!

Hello everyone!
My name is Joanna and I write articles for the Laserfiche Solution Exchange - a place where Laserfiche users share how they have justified, implemented, configured and optimized their ECM systems.
The best part about my job is speaking with Laserfiche users around the world and learning the various ways that they use Laserfiche to improve day-to-day operations and automate business processes.
I'm always on the lookout for users who want to share details about their Laserfiche implementation with the Laserfiche community. If you'd like to be featured on the Solution Exchange, send me an email!
Hey Mike! A little shark with a laser attached to its head told me that a Solution Exchange article is getting published soon about your Workflow migration project :)
P.S. - Isn't it cool that I can write you a message longer than 140 characters? So long brevity!
Awesome Renee!
We worked on it a few weeks ago, and Joanna will let me know when it will be going live. :)
I wrote a couple of workflows to help with one of our repository migrations.
Workflow #1 takes all of the documents in the repository and re-files them into the new folder structure we have. Anything with missing metadata goes into a folder for handling exceptions.
Workflow #2 is turning into a general-purpose tool. It takes the current folder (when started from a business process) and searches all folders below it, removing any empty folders along the way. Nice for a bit of cleanup.
Believe it or not, I'm not a Twitter person. I could do without the 140 character limit, so I'm loving Answers 2.0 already. :)
Yikes! You used the "7" word.
Greetings Chris, fellow moderator and admin. :)
When I hear "outrageously awesome" I have to go to Workflow. By far, the most bang for your automation buck. (It helps to love workflow when you are going through a version 7-9 conversion and having to recreate all your workflows by hand... :) )
Hi Michael,
Welcome to the community! I am Chris Cartrett from Palm Beach in FL and resident Laserfiche admin.
I will be one of the moderators here so let me know if you have any questions or subjects you would like to get feedback on.
-Or we could just talk about the most outrageously awesome feat of Laserfiche perfection known to man thus far! What have you seen? What have you done?
I could talk Laserfiche all day long to a fence post and be perfectly happy :)
Hi Katie! Good to see you again!
