Full Text Index Keeps Corrupting

asked on September 11, 2014

I've deleted and rebuilt the Full Text Index a number of times, but eventually this message appears again:

This catalog is from an earlier version of Laserfiche, and is not compatible with this version. You will need to create a new catalog and reindex your repository. [9464]

Any idea what could be corrupting the index?

Run C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\LFFTS\CatalogUpgrade.exe and see if that addresses the issue.

I would recommend talking with your VAR for assistance as this is not normal behavior. They should be able to help in helping identify the issue and potentially open a support case if necessary

Do you have antivirus or backup process that might be interfering? Make sure that the Laserfiche VSS Writer service is running and that will help with backup related issues. For antivirus, about all you can do is to create an exclusion.

To expand further on what Devin said, you want to exclude all the LF files, folders, exes and processes in the antivirus.

You should also check your backup schedule and see if happens to conflict with indexing of the repository or scanning by the antivirus. The corruption can occur when those overlap.  Some users have gone so far as to exclude their IDX files from their backups since they can easily be recreated should that need arise but that is your call.
