Question

Docusign and Records Management

asked on September 10, 2014

I am preparing to implement Transparent Records Management but need to confirm two questions:

If a document is stored in a Record Series folder that has not reached its cutoff, with a shortcut to the document in the user viewable folders, can the user send the document for DocuSign signature from the shortcut?

When that signed document returns, does it update the document stored in the Record Series folder?

Yes, a shortcut can be used to send a document out to DocuSign. Note that the user sending the document out must have browse and read rights for the document to send it out to be signed. When that document returns, the original will be updated like normal (as long as the Laserfiche account that the DocuSign integration uses has adequate security rights to modify the document). It works just fine with a standard transparent records management setup.
