Is it not possible to take a word document already stored in LF, run it thru QF 9 using LF snapshot and applying processes and sending it back to LF repository? I seem to be having trouble doing that.
It should be possible to do what you're looking for, but maybe not in the order you're currently trying.
For one, Snapshot can absolutely convert Word documents into TIFF, just select "Generate Pages" from the Tasks menu if the document is already in the Laserfiche repository.
Second, Quick Fields can reprocess documents that are already in the repository, but the key here is that Quick Fields cannot convert Word documents into TIFF. Quick Fields can either convert PDF to TIFF or can reprocess existing TIFFs.
For your situation then, it sounds like you would want to first convert the Word docs to TIFF using Snapshot and THEN process them using Quick Fields to apply whatever reprocessing you might want done. If that's not what you're specifically trying to do, just tell me more about your use-case and I'll try to offer some helpful suggestions.
Thanks Aaron! I understand concerning Word Docs. I am trying to reprocess some documents (TIFF and Word) that are already in the LF repository. These were scanned in without any processes or enhancements applied to them. They look terrible. So, I am running these thru QF applying the processes. I find it to be very slow, but getting there. Hitting a few bumps here and there. If I have any more questions concerning this project, I will post again.
