Question

Links using webmail such as Lotus notes or outlook webmail the links are not active?

asked on September 9, 2014

Workflow creates a link to a person and if the person has the full client of outlook or lotus notes the liink is active if they log into the webmail account the link is not active you have to cut and paste it into a browser. If I copy and paste the link into an email from the full version and send it and then open it in webmail the link works and is active

This sounds like the difference between an email being sent using plain-text, rich-text, or HTML formatting. The email activity sends out an HTML email. However, not all clients interpret a plain URL as a clickable link. If you want a URL to show up as a clickable link, you can use a snippet of HTML.

The receiving client will show a link that just says "Click here for WebLink".

The reason you see a clickable link in some clients is that many desktop clients see the pattern of a URL and automatically make it clickable. Whereas others, most often web clients, leave it as plain text.
