If the issue shows for one user on one specific machine then this is possibly caused by a corrupted local file. You can try re-creating the local Windows profile for this user and see if it helps, but at this point I would also recommend opening a support case with your VAR.

Hi Patricia,

To figure out what's going on here we'll need more details about your situation.

  • Is the user getting an error? If so, what is the error?
  • If the user can't browse to the desired content, can they still search for it?
  • Please check this user's Effective Rights for an entry that they are having trouble viewing, to ensure that the user is inheriting rights in the way you intend. To do so, right click on an entry and go to Access Rights. Then from the Effective Rights tab you can specify which user's rights you would like to review.
  • Can another user (with the same feature rights, privileges, and entry access rights) access the items in question?

Exploring these questions and gathering more details about the security you have configured should get us on the right track!

Thanks Kelsey.  To clarify, the user sees the folder structure on the left side of the screen, however, no files show on the right side.  There is no error, just no document.  I can see the document item and so can other users.  I checked the access rights and effective rights on the document in question and compared to the rights on a document she can see and they are the same.

Other users can access the file.

Don't know what else to check.

Hi Pat,

Can you right click on the entry in question and check to see if it has a security tag assigned to it? If they are not a member of that security tag, they would not be able to see that entry. This may be the problem

If there isn't a security tag on the entry, try moving it to a different folder, that both the user and you can view. Can she see the document when it's in a different folder?

In addition, is the content pane of the Laserfiche Client always blank for this user, or is it just blank within certain folders? Certain folders appearing empty would indicate that security is restricting this user's view.

Can this user see into those folders from a different work station?

We have narrowed the issue down to 1 user and her specific computer.

She can view the document in the WebAccess and I can view the document with her user ID on my workstation.

We also know that the documents in question we added to Laserfiche using Snapshot. We went through the Snapshop configuration and it matches mine.

Any ideas what else we should be looking at?
