Question

Can't delete Laserfiche folder

asked on September 9, 2014

I'm trying to add a constraint to a field and have processed all the existing documents that I can find so they comply. However, when I apply the constraint, I get an error say:

2 entries have field values that do not satisfy the constraint on the field, beginning with "\[the path]\test 2". [1] entries have field values that do not satisfy the constraint on the field, beginning with "[2]". [9900]

I can't find the file "test 2" and I'm not sure what the second [2] means.

Although I have administrator rights, and have checked the access rights on the folders, when I try to delete the folder (which I've replaced with [the path] above), which appears to be empty, I get either:

  • 9013 access denied or
  • 9061 folder not empty

Can you advise how to find and amend or delete these files?

Thanks,

John

in the admin console, yes, the metadata tag is what you are looking for, but mainly, you are looking for a tag that has a lock on it (or in the "Security" column, it says "True")

(Middle tag is a security tag)

you can view who is able to use that tag by double clicking on the tag in question and clicking "View...". To give another account rights to it though, you will need to do that from the User Account properties

if you cannot delete the folder, it may have sub-entries with a security tag you are not aware of applied to them. They would not show up in the properties count of documents or folders when they have a security tag applied. But that does not address the first issue you are asking about

Do you mean a laserfiche tag (i.e. what appears under metadata management in the admin console)? Is there any way I can find out if that's the case?
